Frequently asked questions

Is SecuFlag single-use? Do I have to replace it after every drill?

Yes — SecuFlag is intentionally single-use. This is a feature, not a limitation. A single-use design means there are zero moving parts to maintain, zero mechanisms to fail, and zero question about whether it will work when you need it. We recommend replacing units after each live deployment or drill. For a 10-person team running quarterly drills, that's roughly 40 units per year — less than the cost of one range trip. However, you can reload if desired, just without guaranteed performance.

Will law enforcement actually recognize this during an incident?

SecuFlag is most effective as part of a coordinated communication strategy. We recommend briefing your local law enforcement liaison in advance, incorporating SecuFlag into your church's written emergency action plan, and including it in any active threat briefings you share with responding agencies. When officers are pre-briefed that "our security team will display a hi-vis orange SECURITY flag," the device's effectiveness increases dramatically. We provide guidance materials to help you do exactly this.

How does SecuFlag attach — keychain or belt?

Every SecuFlag unit ships with both a split ring for keychain carry and a carabiner clip for belt loop mounting. Best practice is to carry on your dominant-side belt loop and deploy with your non-dominant hand, keeping your weapon hand completely free throughout the deployment sequence.

Is SecuFlag legal to carry in my state?

SecuFlag itself is a passive identification device with no regulated components. It contains no electronics, no weapons, and no controlled materials. It is legal to carry in all 50 states. Your obligation to carry a concealed firearm on your security team is governed by your state's laws and your church's policies — SecuFlag does not affect that status.

Can we get SecuFlag branded with our church name?

Yes. Custom branding — your church name or ministry logo printed on the flag — is available at +$2.00 per unit. Contact us using the form below to discuss your needs and timeline.

Why do you vet orders, and what does that process look like?

SecuFlag is purpose-built for legitimate church and organizational security teams, and we take that seriously. To protect the integrity of the product and the communities it serves, all orders are subject to a brief vetting process. In most cases, this simply means verifying that the shipping address is consistent with a church, ministry, or security-related organization. If we're unable to verify an order automatically, we'll reach out directly to confirm your team's use case before fulfilling. This process is typically quick and straightforward for anyone ordering for a legitimate security purpose. We appreciate your understanding — it's how we make sure SecuFlag stays in the right hands.

Can law enforcement see SecuFlag from all directions like a vest or wristband?

SecuFlag isn't designed for constant 360° visibility — and that's intentional. Larger 360° devices only work if you actually have them with you. SecuFlag clips to your keychain or belt loop — the same place your keys and badge already live. It goes where you go, every service, every drill, without a second thought. The best identification device is the one you're actually wearing when it matters. One pull and you're visible in under 2 seconds. Hard to beat something you never have to remember to bring.

Why not just wear a hi-vis vest or wristband?

Vests and wristbands signal 'armed' to everyone in the room, including the threat. For plainclothes church security, that's a liability, not an asset. SecuFlag keeps your tactical advantage intact during normal operations and gives you a bright, readable identifier the instant law enforcement arrives. Compact enough to forget it's there. Fast enough to matter when it counts.
